What will I learn?

**Course overview**Our BA (Hons) Korean with Studies degree will teach you to master the Korean language. You will also explore the culture, politics, and global significance of the Asia Pacific region.You will study the Korean language, becoming fluent in one of the key languages of the region. This will open up a variety of career options for you. No prior knowledge of the language is required.The Asia Pacific region is a large part of the global economy. You'll understand why this region is so important to the global landscape. You'll delve into the region’s culture, history, politics and society.You can also spend a year in South Korea through our study abroad programme. This will allow you to immerse yourself in Korean culture as part of your studies.**Why study this course**- Gain Korean language skills which will open up a variety of exciting career options, including interpreting.- You will have access to our Worldwise Learning Centre, including the free use of Rosetta Stone.- Learn from lecturers who are experts in their fields, including native Korean speakers.**What you’ll do**- You will study the Korean language, as well as the region's history, society and culture.- You'll will practise your language skills in our interpreting suites and access the resources at our Worldwise Learning Centre.- You’ll have the opportunity to spend a year abroad, where you can immerse yourself in Korean language and culture.**Future careers**Our Ba (Hons) Korean Studies will prepare you for a wide range of careers in or connected to the Asia Pacific region. The main aim of this course is to become fluent in Korean. You'll also gain a thorough cultural understanding of the Asia Pacific. This expertise will provide you with a competitive advantage in the job market.After graduation, you will have diverse career prospects, with potential pathways including:- Translation and interpretation- Journalism- Travel and tourism- Embassies and local governments- Public relations
