What will I learn?

A Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability is a postgraduate degree for law and non-law graduates designed to enhance your academic legal knowledge. This internationally recognised Master’s will provide you with the opportunity to consider the issues of corporate social responsibility from both a theoretical and practical perspective and can open up pathways to careers in Law, Politics, Compliance, International Relations, Management and more.

Corporate Social Responsibility plays a vital role in identifying the excesses and exploitative behaviours that can result when firms take advantage of modern globalisation. It also provides solutions. This course focuses on the important themes of environmental social governance, socially responsible investment, sustainable value, and climate governance. It encourages you to think like a professional and requires you to challenge the usefulness of regulation in the context of CSR. The course is focused on problem-solving and will set you up for employment within the corporate governance field specialising in corporate social responsibility and sustainability. It will also assist you if you already work within this sector in taking on a more senior role.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students should possess a UK bachelor’s degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications. Non-law students must complete a compulsory two week induction covering the Key Principles of the English Legal System, unless they can evidence the successful completion of an LLB (or equivalent) or a minimum of 3 legal modules worth at least 80 QCF credits, which must include - English Legal System, Contract Law and Law of Tort. An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component. Please see 'Alternative English language qualifications' section below for alternatives to IELTS.
