What will I learn?

Sport and Exercise Science is equally rooted in our distant human beginnings and anchored to our present state. It explores how the human body performs under different levels of pressure and covers broad issues from wider participation in sports, to ethics, sports psychology and nutrition. Our three-year combined BSc degree covers a broad base of classical and contemporary theory across both disciplines and has been designed to be fresh and relevant to the wider industry.Students will make extensive use of our dedicated Biomechanics Laboratory which is home to a state-of-the-art motion analysis system. You will work closely in the Exercise Physiology Laboratory which contains a range of exercise ergometers, lung function assessment, blood analysis and muscle function testing equipment.Our staff are experts in their areas of mathematics with the majority being recognized by the Higher Education Academy with a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship. You will master the ideas and logic of mathematics and their applications and acquire a highly desirable set of transferable skills that will set you apart in the employment marketplace.Mathematics graduates typically earn salaries 50% higher than the average graduate. Mathematicians are highly sought after in lucrative industries such as the actuarial profession, the financial sector, technology and systems administration Our graduates have recently gained employment at organisations including AXA, British Airways, Deutsche Bank, Shell Research, Health Authorities and Local Government.

Entry requirements

For international students

A levels: grades ABB-BBB including Mathematics. Welsh Baccalaureate: Requirements are as for A levels where you can substitute the same non-subject specific grade for the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Level Core Grade.BTEC: DDM any subject plus Grade B in A Level Mathematics. Scottish Highers: ABBBC including Grade B in Mathematics. Access to Science (Maths): 24 Distinctions and 15 Merits with Distinctions in all Maths modules.International Baccalaureate: 32 overall with 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.
