What will I learn?

Mechanical engineers are at the forefront of developing technologies. From building robotics that aid healthcare, to seeking sustainable energy solutions. You could be solving global issues for a variety of sectors. Preparing to work in a fast-changing industry, you’ll be equipped with a range of technical, creative and management skills. Our expert academics will also support you to think innovatively and work confidently in our state-of-the-art labs. Many Mechanical Engineering graduates go on to further study, or find work in the energy, manufacturing, transportation or communications sectors. Engineering consultancy is another possible career. Go global and add an optional year abroad to your degree. Queen Mary has links with universities in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia (partnerships vary for each degree programme). Your year abroad can be taken in Year 3 of your degree, with your Year 3 modules taken in Year 4.

Entry requirements

For international students

A-Level - Grades AAB at A-Level. This must include A-Level Mathematics, and Physics or Chemistry. Excludes General Studies and Critical Thinking.IB - International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 34 points overall, including 6,6,5 from three Higher Level subjects. This must include Mathematics at Higher Level, and either Physics or Chemistry, also at Higher Level.GCSE - Minimum five GCSE passes including English at grade C or 4.
