What will I learn?

With a 50/50 split between clinical practice and scheduled classes, our student midwives gain the knowledge and self-confidence to support women throughout pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period.By studying a careful balance of theory and practice-based learning, you’ll also develop the interpersonal and communication skills to work within interdisciplinary and multi-agency care teams, and to build and sustain relationships with women and their families. You'll learn in the cutting-edge facilities of our award-winning new Allam Medical Building – which have been designed to mirror what you’ll be using a fully-qualified professional and include a midwifery-led birthing unit, simulated hospital ward, intensive care unit and resuscitation unit.
