MPhil in Italian

UK

What will I learn?

The ability to understand foreign languages and cultures ought to be one of the fundamental principles of the globalised world. Studying foreign languages at university offers the opportunity to understand people, cultures and histories in their original languages. It also provides the chance to contextualise your own language and culture much more broadly. In the School of Modern Languages, you will study alongside experts in the seven language subjects, as well as Comparative Literature, whose research stretches from the Middle Ages to the present day across a wide range of topics.MPhil, a combination of coursework and research. You will take two semesters of full-time taught courses or equivalent part-time study and assessments. This is followed by a thesis of no more than 40,000 words which you will prepare during the summer and the following year and submit by the end of the second academic session.
