What will I learn?

Our School of Sport offers a wide selection of courses including Physical Education and School Sport, Football Coaching and Performance, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Therapy, and other specialised programs.

Students in the School of Sport are taught at our Walsall campus, which boasts a range of specialist sports facilities:

  • Human performance and movement labs with an environmental chamber and 3D motion capture software
  • Physiotherapy and sports therapy suites
  • Sports performance clinic
  • Elite strength and conditioning suite
  • Multi-million pound Sports Centre
  • 3G football pitch
  • Tennis/netball courts

In recent years, our sports courses have involved student collaborations with various local and national organisations such as British Judo, England Squash, Commonwealth Games, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, and West Bromwich Albion FC.

Entry requirements

For international students

To apply for a research degree, you should normally hold one or more of the following: a first or upper second-class honours degree, or a master’s degree, or evidence of prior practice or learning that is accepted by the University, or a qualification which is regarded by the University as equivalent to a first or upper second-class honours degree. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English at least to the level of an IELTS score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no individual element less than 6.0.
