Nutrition (with Foundation Year): Fees & Entry Requirements at University of Lancashire, UK

Nutrition (with Foundation Year)

UK

What will I learn?

Our Nutrition foundation year provides you with the essential knowledge and skills to progress to our Nutrition degree - ideal if you'd like to pursue a degree but lack the formal qualifications.

As poor nutrition contributes to conditions like cancer, obesity, heart disease and diabetes, the demand for nutritionists is growing. Recent health policies emphasise the importance of nutrition to maintain health and reduce strain on the NHS.

In the foundation year, you'll study modules on sport, activity and health. This will deepen your understanding of performance, wellbeing and group dynamics. You'll also build key skills for academic work.

Upon successful completion of the foundation year, you'll be able to progress onto our Nutrition BSc (Hons) degree. This course bridges the gap between healthcare and the food industry. It covers chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer, and teaches you how to create effective nutrition plans.

We collaborate with local health organisations and sports clubs, providing you with practical learning experiences. The course covers a range of topics, allowing you to tailor your studies to your career goals.

Our course is taught by experts in nutrition. You'll also have access to facilities like our physiology laboratory and specialised equipment for nutrition and food chemistry.
