What will I learn?

UCL works in partnership with over 300 primary schools, nurseries and children's centres to enable students to fully prepare to be a primary teacher with an Early Years Foundation Stage/Key Stage 1 focus (EYFS/KS1). We welcome a wide range of students each year to our Primary PGCE and traditionally under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Our cohorts are typically very diverse, reflecting school communities across London. Students on this course will have the opportunity to develop into effective, confident teachers whose classroom practice is informed by an advanced knowledge of educational theory, and who will continue to learn and reflect throughout their careers. On completion of the course students will have a clear understanding of how children learn within this age range. The Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) qualification applies to the whole primary age-range, whilst a student's teaching experience will be in EYFS and KS1.
