Applicants are typically required to have three A Levels with grades of AAB, including Chemistry and at least one further science subject from Biology, Mathematics, or Physics. Mathematics and Further Mathematics will not be considered as separate subjects at A2, and General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. For the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, a minimum of 32 points overall is required, including 6,6,5 at Higher Level with Chemistry plus one from Biology, Physics, or Mathematics, and three further subjects at Standard Level, with Language A in English at grade 5 where relevant. BTEC qualifications are considered, but Chemistry must be taken at A Level: the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma is not accepted without Chemistry, the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in a science-related subject may be accepted in addition to two A Levels including Chemistry, and the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in a science-related subject may also be accepted alongside two A Levels including Chemistry. GCSE requirements include Mathematics at grade B/6 or higher, although Mathematics grade C at AS Level may be offered in lieu of the GCSE requirement. Applicants with the Irish Leaving Certificate should have four subjects at Higher Level, including Chemistry and a second science from Biology, Mathematics, or Physics, with a typical offer of H1 H1 H1 H2, and Mathematics at a minimum of O3 to meet the GCSE equivalent. For Scottish qualifications, Chemistry and one further science from Biology, Mathematics, or Physics at Advanced Higher Grade BB, plus Higher AABBB, are required.
