What will I learn?

This recently created group has come together as a result of the development of the medical school at the University of Central Lancashire over the last three years.

The numbers joining the group are increasing as the medical school grows. The group currently contains members with interests in a range of clinically related research areas and also work with groups in other Faculties and other Universities. We offer alternative start dates for your research degree, commencing in September, January and March for maximum flexibility. September 2024 entry: Deadline for home students is 1 June 2024, EU/International is 1 May 2024, January 2025 entry: Deadline for home students is 1 November 2024, EU/International is 1 September 2024, March 2025 entry: Deadline for home students is 1 December 2024, EU/International is 1 November 2024. September 2025 entry: Deadline for home students is 1 June 2025, EU/International is 1 May 2025.

Specific areas of research interests currently bring supported include Head Injury Management, Cardiovascular Disease, Pulmonary Disease, Infectious Diseases, gastroenterology and cancer.

The group has already established strong collaborative links across academic and health care settings to develop and deliver both research and education.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants need a recognised UK first degree, second class honours or above; or a UK Master’s degree or equivalent qualification. Where English is not your first language an English language qualification is required at IELTS 6.5/7.0 or equivalent, acceptable qualification.
