What will I learn?

Drawing on the best available evidence this unique course will equip you with advanced knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of paediatric physiotherapy. With a wonderful range of optional modules available, the course offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the wider spheres of child development and health as well as developing your clinical reasoning, research and leadership skills. This Physiotherapy Studies Paediatrics MSc gives you the chance to work alongside UCL and external experts to build your knowledge in the key practical and theoretical aspects of paediatric physiotherapy. You will challenge the foundations of established, but often poorly justified, treatments, carry out your own clinical research, and learn about new and emerging ways to treat paediatric patients. Studying at a top university that’s helping to shape new ideas in public health, you will benefit from teaching from recognised specialists in this field – and get to focus on the areas of paediatric physiotherapy that interest you most. With modules planned largely in short blocks, you can fit this course easily around work or other commitments. By the end of your Master’s degree, you will be excellently placed to progress into advanced practice roles, leadership or academic positions, such as part-time teaching or lecturing. This degree is suitable for World Physiotherapy recognised qualified physiotherapists with more than 12 months of supervised work experience, beyond their internship, within the Paediatrics field. Also suitable for experienced practitioners who prefer not to undertake clinical placements for reasons including restrictions on study leave. This programme is also available on a modular (flexible) basis, with a duration of 5 calendar years.
