Recently completed or current PhD student theses: Tools to optimise pig in vitro production: improving sperm morphometrics, oocyte vitrification and embryo culture; Genetic analysis in diverse ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana; Understanding the epigenetics of alternative splicing in Arabidopsis thaliana; Natural genetic factors associated with alpha-synuclein pathology in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans; Understanding the shining ramshorn snail, Segmentina nitida: morphology, genetics; Investigating pheromone monitoring for UK moths of conservation interest; Natural variation in lifespan and stress responses in Caenorhabditis elegans; A study of the structure and biological activity of the Eranthis hyemalis type II ribosome inactivating protein; Maternal effects in parasitic nematodes: evidence, relevance and importance; The environmental impact of Crassula helmsii.

Entry requirements

For international students

For research level study, we would expect you to have gained a Bachelor/Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university. IELTS: 6.0 overall with no element below 5.5. TOEFL IBT score minimum of 60 overall: Reading 8, Listening 7, Speaking 16 and Writing 18.
