BSc'SoundDesignisforthosewithafascinationfor'soundandthecreativeuseofaudiotechnology.Thisdegreeprogrammeprovidesapractical,theoreticalandcreativegroundingin'sounddesignacrossmultipleindustryareas,frommovie'soundtrackstomusicproduction,gamesaudio,andbeyond.Usingindustry-standard'studioandlive'soundfacilities,youlllearn'skillsincludingprofessionalrecordingandmixingtechniques,howtoevaluatenewlyemergingpracticesand'studiotechnologiesandbuildaportfolioofyourpersonal'soundworkandprojects.Withadegreein'sounddesign,youcouldbeworkinginpost-productionfortheFilm,TV,andGamingindustries,outsidebroadcast,livemusicevents,orforaudio'suppliersorbroadcasters'suchas'SkyortheBBC.Withacareerin'sounddesign,youcoulduseyour'studioandproduction'skillsaspartofateamtocreateappropriateaudioinavarietyofcontextstodemonstrateatmosphere,texture,oroveralleffect.Thiscourseisalsoofferedasafour-yearprogramme,includinganinitialFoundationYear.TheFoundationYearwillallowyoutodevelopyouracademic'study'skillsandbuildconfidenceinyourabilities,identifyingyourown'strengthsanddevelopmentneedsforprogressionontoanundergraduateprogramme.
