What will I learn?

Sport and Exercise Science explores how the human body performs under different levels of pressure. It also covers the broader issues at play, from wider participation in sports and exercise, to ethics, sports psychology and nutrition. This degree provides a solid core of modern and relevant learning, preparing you for a fulfilling career in fitness and leisure industries, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and more. Throughout your time at Swansea, you will make extensive use of our dedicated Biomechanics Laboratory, which is home to a state-of-the-art motion analysis system. You will also work closely in the Exercise Physiology Laboratory. This contains a range of exercise ergometers, lung function assessment, blood analysis and muscle function testing equipment. As you progress, your developing interests and abilities will combine with hands-on experience of advanced equipment, establishing skills which are vital to securing employment.

Our graduates are set for a range of exciting career opportunities including: Sports and Performance Scientist, Strength and Conditioning Practitioner, Cardiac Physiologist, Performance Analyst, Health Promotion Officer and Public Health Scientist. Entry requirements

For international students

ABB - BBB at A level Recommended subjects include: Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, PE, Psychology Variable offers made dependent on subjects studied and all applications are considered on an individual basis, with GCSE grades, AS Level subjects and grades, work experience, references and personal statement taken into account. Or 32 at IB to include 5 at HL or 6 at SL Mathematics and 4 at HL or 5 at SL English Language. Students studying for a BTEC National Diploma will typically require DDD in a science-related discipline (includes Exercise Science and Sports Science, excludes Sports Studies). For students studying AVCE, we will accept double awards as part of an overall profile. Depending upon the content of the AVCE studied, this qualification may or may not be considered as a science subject. IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL (IBT) - 79
