**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?**An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Sports Coaching, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course.**Why Sports Coaching?**Our Sports Coaching degree builds advanced coaching skills, preparing you for a career in professional performance or community contexts. Gaining coaching expertise in one sporting area or across multiple sports, you’ll examine sports science themes including performance analysis, biomechanics and psychology. With opportunities to gain experience on placements with organisations such as Gloucester Rugby, West Bromwich Albion Football Club and England Netball, our graduates stand out from the crowd. You’ll also have the chance to gain National Governing Body UK Coaching Certificates (levels 1, 2 and 3) alongside your studies, to graduate as a qualified coach (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details).You’ll draw on the experience of lecturers who are active sports coaches at community or national level, working with partners such as UK Coaching, GB Rowing, British Equestrian, GB Paralympic squads and the England and Wales Cricket Board. You’ll also learn from high-profile athletes, coaches and academic experts at our annual student sports coaching conference. You can take advantage of brand new sports facilities at our Oxstalls campus, including an international-standard sports arena, 3G pitches, dedicated pitches for rugby, hockey and football and a cricket pavilion and pitch.
