Summary
The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering offers an accelerated program that enables students to earn bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering in approximately 5 years. Students are eligible to apply for the program after they have completed sixty-five (65) credit hours, typically at the end of the sophomore year (with at least 30 credit hours at CSU), and they have shown appropriate progress in their degree program. Once admitted to the combined program, students may complete up to twelve (12) credit hours of graduate courses while enrolled in the undergraduate program. Nine (9) of these credit hours will count towards both the undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher GPA to remain in the program. Courses which will be applied to both the bachelor's and master's degrees must be taken at the 500 level. Consult the MS Chemical Engineering program for detailed requirements of the graduate program.
The courses that can be applied towards both the bachelor's and master's degrees are described below:
Any two (2) Chemical Engineering [CHE, 500-level] graduate classes (Will fulfill the six (6) credits of Senior Technical Electives requirements of the Bachelor of Chemical Engineering program)
One (1) Advanced Science Elective from the program-approved list of electives. The class must be listed as an accepted elective graduate class for a graduate degree program in the corresponding discipline (Fulfills the three (3) credits Advanced Science elective requirement for the Bachelor of Chemical Engineering program)
