Associate in Arts - Concentration in Economics

USA

What will I learn?

Economics is the science of human choice. It relates to every aspect of our lives, from our individual decisions to the ways in which companies and governments operate. As an HCC student in Economics you'll compare, contrast and analyze a variety of global systems and explore: basic economic theory, supply and demand, product and resource pricing employment theory and other fundamental economic policies.

Best-sellers like Freakonomics and Money Ball have shown the importance of economic principles in shaping the world around us. As a student in the Economics curriculum, you can join the Business Club at Heartland and may be eligible to join the Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honors Society.

As a program graduate, you'll be prepared to transfer to a four-year institution. There, you can pursue a bachelor's degree and equip yourself for an assortment of career possibilities often held by those with an economics background, including roles as a:

  • Financial Analyst
