What will I learn?

This certificate is designed to prepare students seeking careers as display and exhibit designers and covers interior, industrial, thematic, and promotional displays. The training program includes consideration of the total visual presentation design and production, including store planning, service promotion mix applied to retailers, wholesalers (trade show), corporate display, visual identity, and exhibits in cultural institutions (museums and galleries). Students are encouraged to work toward an Associate in Science degree. Complete the Display and Visual Presentation Certificate of Achievement and the Associate in Science graduation requirements as outlined in the Graduation Requirements section of the catalog.

Program Outcomes

Students will be prepared for entry level work in the fields of display and exhibit design.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to Orange Coast College is granted to those applicants who meet at least one of the following requirements:

High school graduation.

Certificate of Proficiency or a G.E.D. from the State of California.

Attainment of 18 years of age and who, in the judgment of college officials, is capable of profiting from instruction at our college.

Enrolment between the 9th to 12th grade and recommendation for advanced academic or vocational college level study.

English proficiency tests:

A valid test result should not be older than 2-years from the date an application for admission is submitted.

Duolingo Test for English – 90; TOEFL - Internet-Based 61 or Paper Based 500 (TOEFL code: 4584); IELTS - 5.5; Eiken - 2A (if the score is a 2, a minimum raw score of 2150); iTEP - 3.5; PTE (Pearsons Test for English) Academic – 45; Michigan English Test (MET) - B2; Cambridge English Language Assessment - B2; GTEC CBT – 1051
