Why Study Marketing at Northwest
Northwest Missouri State University’s Booth School of Business recognizes the value of the marketing function, that is crucial to the success and growth of any organization. Social, economic, cultural, non-profit, and even political organizations recognize the integral importance of a marketing degree. Students in the field attempt to comprehend, explain and predict the effectiveness of various marketing tactics and to develop proven frameworks around consumer and business decision-making with which more efficient and effective strategies can be created.
Northwest Missouri State University faculty and students are discovering new and developing ideas that redefine current marketing practices by asking and answering the questions that help organizations decide which consumer and business segments to target and which products and services to produce. The marketing curriculum involves a broad study of concepts that prepare students to set appropriate pricing levels, branding, promotion, supply chain, sales force management, new product development, social media, consumer behavior, product management, research and other strategic elements that generate sales. Our graduates assume positions in social media marketing, brand management, product management, new product development, e-commerce, sales management, advertising, and marketing consulting.
In addition to learning marketing concepts, students gain profession-based learning. Knacktive – a student-run marketing and communication group – provides students with hands-on marketing training opportunities. For example, Knacktive partnered with Ringgold County in Iowa to create an integrated campaign that included market research, creative strategies, product planning, promotions, and public relations to promote tourism in the county. At Northwest Missouri State University, you are career ready, day one!
