The University of Arizona is approved by the Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative Program (AU-ABC) to provide a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree with an emphasis in Meteorology fully online program for Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) graduates in weather technology and/or meteorology. This program is compliant with the National Weather Service (NWS) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards, particularly with the addition of ordinary differential equations and hydrology (see program course list for more info), when considered along with the content gained through the CCAF in Meteorology. As the only fully online Bachelor of Applied Science: Meteorology program in the United States, this degree has been designed in close collaboration with the 25th Operational Weather Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

The curriculum is fully quantitative, meaning that atmospheric concepts are studied through applied physics, mathematics, and computer programming.

The mission of this program is to serve the educational needs of military personnel both locally and abroad to become professional meteorologists eligible for promotion. The program is offered entirely online allowing students to access classes around their work schedules wherever they are located in the world.
