What will I learn?

Environmental studies is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with concepts and tools for understanding the complex relationships between humancommunities and both ''natural'' and built environments. As reflected in the learning outcomes, the program cultivates critical analysis of complex environmental challenges at the local and global levels, strengthens students’ ability to communicate these effectively, and to act as informed citizens and professionals. This requires knowledge of ecological science and broad and deep understanding of human systems, all informed by careful reflection upon normative concerns and values.Students completing this program will have demonstrated the ability to:analyze the interrelationships among social, political, geographic, economic, and cultural aspects of environmental issues and determine the effects of power and privilege on these relationshipsdescribe ecological systemsapply knowledge of environmental systems to practical problemsdemonstrate a comparative understanding of social science and humanistic methods of inquiry and use these methods appropriatelyinterpret and communicate complex ideas effectivelyengage in civic and public issues informed by normative and ethical inquirydemonstrate competence in a skill that complements environmental studies knowledge.

Applicants must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on high school coursework.

English Language Proficiency

ACT - 22 or above on English test section; Cambridge English Exams - CAE: C1 (180 or above); CPE: C2 (200 or above); IELTS - 6.0; ILSC - Completion of Intermediate 4 (A2); iTEP - 3.7; TOEFL - 71 IBT, 525 PBT, 197 CBT.
