Old Dominion University offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in financial management with a major in personal financial planning. One of the most significant issues facing an individual and their family is how to manage and protect their assets, income and investments. Financial management comprises four majors: finance, personal financial planning, real estate, and risk management and insurance. There are many opportunities for financial planning graduates due to the shift in business and government away from company provided pension plans to plans individuals have to fund and manage. Opportunities exist as independent planners, in human resource departments, as well as in the investments and insurance brokerage industries.
