The Bachelor of Science in Public Health prepares professionals to identify, prevent and solve health problems at community, local, national and global levels. Public Health prepares students with the knowledge and skills to promote health. It draws on principles from the social, behavioral and health sciences. UNT is one of the leading universities meeting the growing need for public health professionals by providing exciting opportunities for you in this field.The Public Health degree program focuses on preventing and mitigating disease outbreaks and confronting systemic health challenges that affect communities. This program prepares professionals to identify, prevent and solve health problems at various levels. It also prepares students with the knowledge and skills to optimize health outcomes.Our degree program is well suited for students invested in building healthy communities here in the DFW area, nationally and globally. We are situated in an academic department which promotes interdisciplinary solutions to health issues that affect diverse communities across the lifespan.Due to the broad, generalist focus of this program, upon completion individuals may pursue careers within various public hospitals, health departments, health insurance companies, as well as nonprofits in the public health care industry. They can also continue with graduate school education for advanced degrees in Public Health.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
