The undergraduate Art Education program leads to the Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Arts Education. The curriculum plan includes courses in Studio Art, Art Criticism, Art History, Art Education, and General Education. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required for admission to the Art Studio program, which is a prerequisite for the Art Education program. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required for admission to Art Education, and students must earn a grade of B- or better in all Art Education (ARE) courses.

Upon successful completion of the baccalaureate program, students are eligible for New York State initial certification to teach art in the public schools.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have a high school degree and a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or an 85% grade average or higher).

English Language Proficiency: TOEFL iBT – 80; IELTS - 6.5; PTE Academic – 58; Duolingo English Test – 105. Application Deadlines: April 15 for Spring semester (January start); October 15 for Fall semester (August start).
