What will I learn?

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers two programs leading to undergraduate degrees. The Bachelor of Science degree, certified by the American Chemical Society, prepares students intending to pursue a graduate degree or a career in chemistry. The Bachelor of Arts degree provides a broad chemistry-based background in preparation for a chemistry-related career or for those planning to teach chemistry. The minor in chemistry is designed for students who are majoring in other disciplines but would like additional coursework in chemistry.

Oral Communication Requirement:

To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry a student must successfully complete CHM 495.

Applied Learning Requirement:

To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.A. and B.S. degree in Chemistry a student must successfully complete at least one hour of CHHS 491, CHM 495, CHM 498, or CHM 499.

Applicants must have an official transcript directly from all the high schools.

English Proficiency

TOEFL: minimum of 71.

IELTS: minimum of 6.0

Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 105

Pearson PTE - minimum score 54

iTEP Academic - minimum score of 3.7. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once they become complete: Fall - April 1; Spring - October 1.
