The Grainger College of Engineering offers an online graduate program in civil and environmental engineering which allows students to take classes and earn a certificate from the department in a variety of specialized areas. Online students receive access to recorded on-campus lectures and follow the class syllabus, including the same assignments, exams, and projects as on-campus students. All courses are offered via web streaming technology. To earn a certificate, students must complete three or four courses for 12 credit hours.

Applicants must have earned at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college in the United States or a comparable degree from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission.
Students applying to online programs must satisfy the full status admissions requirement

IELTS (academic exam) - greater than 7.0
