Specialization in Collaborative Piano

Purpose:

To provide skilled pianists advanced training and performance experience as collaborators with vocalists and instrumentalists, and to prepare students for teaching collaboration at the collegiate level. The program offers a broad spectrum of opportunities, and allows for specialization in vocal collaboration, instrumental collaboration, or chamber music.

Specialization in Composition

Purpose:

To provide advanced training and experience for students pursuing a career in composition, and to prepare students to teach composition at the collegiate level.

Specialization in Conducting

Purpose:

To provide advanced training and performance experience for students pursuing a career in conducting, and to prepare students to teach conducting at the collegiate level.

Specialization in Music Education

Purpose:

To provide advanced training and research skills in music education, and to prepare students for a career in teaching music education at the collegiate level or in leadership positions in public or private schools.

Minimum GPA of 3.00 for all graduate work attempted..

English Language Proficiency Requirements

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

The minimum TOEFL score required is 79 for the internet-based test. The minimum TOEFL score for the paper-based exam is 550.

IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)

The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of a 6.5.
