Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner University of Tennessee

Course info

The Acute Care Pediatric Post-Graduate Certificate Program is a primarily online program that prepares students to deliver advanced care to infants, children, and adolescents with acute, critical, and complex health conditions. The certificate program is available to certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioners with master’s or doctoral degrees. Applicants must have at least 1 year of acute care experience.

One on-campus requirement allows the opportunity to learn and assess advanced clinical skills. Specific clinical practicum hours and credit allocation by semester will be determined by a gap analysis of previous experiences. Upon program completion, graduates will be eligible for certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and for state licensure.
