What will I learn?

STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. Graduates of the School for the Future of Innovation in Society are highly valued current employers include NASA, Honeywell, Intel, Google and Cisco Systems. Innovation is fundamentally about empowering people and unlocking their potential to create positive change. That requires a human touch and knowledge of how to put people and communities --- not technology --- first. The Bachelor of Science program in innovation in society is specifically designed to prepare students to be leaders in this exciting and fast-growing field. The program centers on building a foundational knowledge in innovation while enabling students to hone skills such as scenario planning, policy analysis, the responsible design of innovations, and public engagement. Students are equipped to understand the intricacies of modern challenges, and anticipate and navigate future trends. The program's small classes, one-on-one opportunities to work with faculty, and extensive community partnerships create a valuable experience in which students can learn how to develop the imagination, creativity, skills and expertise needed to help envision, plan and implement effective strategies for change. Students learn how to use approaches such as policy analysis, foresight and scenario building, knowledge system creation and strategic plan development.

Entry requirements

For international students

3.0 GPA or equivalent. Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 9–11 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10–12 grade coursework.) Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
