Founded in 1873, Drury University started out with the aim of offering an environment of strong academic discourse and intellectual achievement. The early curriculum emphasized education, music, and religion. Starting out in a single building, the small private university’s campus has grown significantly over the last century and a half to a 90-acre campus in Springfield, Missouri. Drury University offers students a bold new academic experience by breaking the mold of single majors and rigid formulas associated with traditional education. Students receive a mix of life credentials and career credentials, enabling them to pursue their intellectual passions while giving them the tools they require to be technically proficient, innovative, creative and, most importantly, career-ready. Drury was among the first universities in Missouri to offer continuing education and evening classes to cater to the needs of non-traditional students.
