What will I learn?

Advanced literary studies challenge you to think and write critically about how words can reflect and shape the world.Designed to prepare students to teach at a college or to pursue a doctorate, the program allows you to tailor your studies to best fit your career goals, whether they include teaching, writing, editing or other field. You will explore language literature composition rhetoric literary theory, history and criticism and more. Students in this program conduct independent scholarly research. The program offers a thesis option and a non-thesis option.

Entry requirements

For international students

All international graduate school applicants must satisfy the following criteria to be considered for graduate admission to University of Idaho: Have earned or will have earned a bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a recognized accrediting body, a ministry of education or an official quality assurance organization. The bachelor's degree should be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree consisting of four years of study (120 semester credit hours or 180 quarter hours). An official academic record from all post-secondary education institutions attended is required. This takes time so start this early in your application process.
