The Master of Education in School Guidance is designed to provide the framework for school counselor preparation and to enhance the professional development of educators who are seeking a graduate degree in school guidance.

Entry requirements

For international students

A Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a DOE recognized Institutional Accrediting Agency;

Evidence of sound moral character and compatibility with DBU's mission;

A likelihood of academic success as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all previous coursework;

Two recommendation forms from non-family members;

A current professional resume.

Additional conditions of full admission may be specified by individual degree programs and/or the Master's Degrees Admission Committee.

English Proficiency Test Scores (good for 2 years after test date)

  • TOEFL - 79 (internet or paper)
  • IELTS (Academic) - Overall Band: 6.0 (No section band lower than 5.5)
  • PTE (Academic) - 53
  • CAE - 169
  • MET - 65
  • iTEP - 3.9
  • DET - 110 (No sub score lower than 90)
