What will I learn?

The M.S. in Data Analytics equips students with technical skills that are used by professional data scientists for data analysis, visualization, predictions, and discoveries. This Master degree at UNLV utilizes the strengths of six colleges for computer programming, database technology, machine learning, management, and statistical techniques for data analysis in specific disciplines. The program covers applications in many industries and specialties such as health care, hospitality, social sciences, engineering, business, and government.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Bachelor’s Degree – You must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, or an approved international equivalent. Grade Point Average – You must have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.75 (4.00=A) for your bachelor’s degree, or a minimum 3.00 (4.00=A) for the last two years (60 semester hours).

For international students

Applicants will be requested to submit:

  • Completed undergraduate Bachelor's degree.

English Proficiency Requirement:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Minimum score: 6.5; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (Paper-based) Minimum score: 74; (Computer-based) Minimum score: 213; (Internet-based) Minimum score: 80. Michigan Test of English Language Placement (MTELP) - Minimum score: 85; Pearson Test of English (PTE)- Minimum score: 65.

Application Deadline: Aug. 1 for fall semester; Dec. 1 for spring semester; May 1 for summer semester.
