Deakin India 25% Merit Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, the below criteria must be met:

  • Applicant should be an Indian citizen living in India
  • Applicant should be residing in India at the time of application
  • Applicant should be applying through any Deakin Authorised agent based in INDIA
  • Applicant should meet the below mentioned academic eligibility criteria

Academic eligibility criteria

  • An overall score of 75% and above in an undergraduate degree when applying for a postgraduate program, or
  • An overall score of 80% and above in the 12th standard (as specified by NOOSR) when applying for an undergraduate program.

All conditions must be met. This scholarship is conditional on acceptance of terms and conditions which will be specified in the acceptance form.

Continued eligibility is subject to maintaining a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65.

Application details

Students who meet the selection and eligibility criteria will automatically receive a 25% fee reduction to the total indicative tuition fee stated in the Letter of Offer.

Value details

25 per cent of the total indicative tuition fee stated on your offer letter. Payments will be applied to your fee record after each applicable census date.

Deakin India Undergraduate 20% Scholarship

Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) Partnership Bursary

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must:

  • be a prospective international student
  • have completed one year of study (8 credit points) in a Manipal Postgraduate Diploma course through the Deakin/MaGE pathway program in Data Science
  • have applied for Deakin’s Master of Data Science as an offshore Cloud Campus Deakin/MaGE student (for their second year).

Application details

Eligible students applying for Master of Data Science will be automatically considered for this bursary and bursary will be applied after the trimester census date.

Deakin Alumni Postgraduate Bursary

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible you must be:

  • a Deakin alumnus, or an immediate family member of a Deakin alumnus and
  • a commencing student* in a postgraduate award course and
  • enrolled in a full-fee paying place

The Deakin alumni postgraduate bursary:

  • is not available to current Deakin University staff unless the staff member is also a Deakin graduate or an immediate family member of a Deakin alumnus.
  • cannot be held concurrently with any other scholarship, bursary or discount offered by Deakin University. (If you are offered any other scholarship, bursary or discount you need to choose which one you wish to hold).
  • will not apply to postgraduate studies undertaken in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
  • will not apply to students who hold a Deakin Diploma as their highest achieved study level at Deakin University.
  • will not apply retrospectively should your eligibility change during your studies.
  • will not apply if you have not completed prior studies before commencing a new postgraduate course.  Studies in your commencing postgraduate degree must be in later study periods and cannot be undertaken concurrently with your first degree at Deakin.
  • will not apply to further studies undertaken within the same study stream/related area eg. graduate certificate to masters.

Application details

If you are a Deakin alumni there is no application process. Your eligibility to receive the Deakin alumni postgraduate bursary will be assessed at the time of enrolment. If eligible, the bursary will be applied directly to your tuition fees.

Business and Law International Partner Institutions Bursary

To be eligible you must:

  • have not accepted any other Deakin scholarship or bursary
  • be a new student who commences their course at Deakin between Trimester 1 2019 to Trimester 3 2023
  • meet the entry requirements for their course, including English language requirements
  • be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework Deakin degree within the Faculty of Business and Law
  • Applicants must be an international student coming from a partner institution listed below:

HDR Scholarship - Research Training Program Scholarship (RTP) / Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPR)

Eligibility requirements

  • To be eligible for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance or DUPRS a student must be a domestic or international student enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin University
  • To be eligible for an RTP Fees Offset an applicant must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR fees
  • To be eligible for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend a student must not be receiving income from another source to support that student’s general living costs while undertaking their course of study if that income is greater than 75 per cent of that student’s RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate. Income unrelated to the student’s course of study or income received for the student’s course of study but not for the purposes of supporting general living costs is not to be taken into account.

HDR Scholarship - Flexible Roll Forming of Automotive Structures

  • be enrolling full time and hold an honours degree (first class or upper second class) or an equivalent standard master's degree with a substantial research component.

  • demonstrate ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team.

Deakin Sanctuary Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible you must be:

  • an International student who holds a Temporary Protection visa (TPV) or a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) or be an asylum seeker on Bridging Visa A (BVA) or E (BVE)
  • a student commencing your on campus (located) studies in Trimester 1 2019 at Deakin University
  • studying full time in a bachelor degree
  • eligible for entry into a bachelor degree at Deakin University

Preference will be given to students undertaking their first undergraduate bachelor degree.

Students can apply directly to Deakin. As part of the application process, you will also be required to upload supporting documentation.

Supporting documentation should include:

  • a copy of your visa
  • a copy of your ImmiCard OR your passport showing your nationality and passport number
  • statement of recommendation from a school or community leader (not a family member)
  • other referee statements which could support your application

To be eligible you must:

  • be an International student
  • be a commencing student enrolled in the Master of Architecture or Master of Architecture (Design Management) in Trimester 1 2019
  • have completed a  Bachelor of Design (Architecture) or Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management at Deakin University in 2018 and achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 60
  • be experiencing an area of hardship that has adversely affected your studies.

Desirable:

  • ability to demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities relating to your development as a future professional architect.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

Deakin International Scholarship

All criteria must be met.

Selection of successful applicants for the fixed number of scholarships will be competitive, and may require scores above the stated minimum requirements.

CICRA Partnership Bursary

Local learning support will be provided to the students while they complete their third year with Deakin online

  • have met the English and academic requirements for entry to their selected course

The bursary is available for the normal duration of the course*

  • 20% of the student contributions (tuition fees) and an accommodation discount of 20% throughout the duration of their scholarship
  • Students from Changchun Sister City will be eligible for 25% of the student contributions (tuition fees) and an accommodation discount of 25% throughout the duration of their scholarship

Application details

All prospective students who apply for eligible courses at Deakin’s Warrnambool Campus will be automatically assessed for the bursary and will be advised of the outcome. There is no need to complete a scholarship application form.

The bursaries will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Master of Laws (LLM) Scholarship

Study level

Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

To apply for admission to the LLM program, a student must have completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent, and no less than four years of full-time study at a university or other approved educational institution and satisfied the minimum entry requirements of the LLM program. In some circumstances consideration may also be given to students who have more than two years of relevant work experience.

Candidates for the LLM program must also demonstrate English Language competency at Band B as set out in Schedule A to the Admission Criteria Selection (Higher Education Courses) procedure before commencing study.

Students will be required to complete an application for the Master of Laws Program and will be selected for the scholarship based on academic merit, professional experience, quality of their application, and interview performance.
