To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a citizen of one of the countries identified above;
  • be an International student, not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen;
  • study at ECU Joondalup, ECU Mount Lawley, or ECU South West (Bunbury) Campus;
  • not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship;
  • not have received a Certificate of Enrolment (CoE) from ECU in any course on or before 18 July 2019;
  • commence study at ECU in 2020;
  • meet a high level of academic achievement in your previous studies (as determined by ECU);
  • meet ECU’s direct academic entry requirements for the course of your choice; and
  • study an undergraduate bachelor degree (excluding Bachelor of Science (Nursing) C33; Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) (Y76) and Bachelor of Science (Paramedical) K89).

ECU-SCIA Phd Scholarship

Applicants must be proposing a thesis in spinal cord injuries

The Project

The project will be determined in consultation with the supervision team, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and the successful candidate but within one of the following the broad areas:

1. Evaluation of a community-based, resistance and aerobic exercise program for people with neurological disorders with an emphasis on cardio-metabolic outcomes.

2. Development and evaluation of targeted exercise prescription and nutritional supplementation to improve bone health in people with spinal cord injuries.

You will be based at the NeuroMoves Clinic and Exercise Medicine Research Institute at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia supervised by leaders in the field of exercise medicine and neuroscience.

We are calling for applications to be considered for Research Scholarships valued at AUD $30,000 per annum (tax free) to undertake a PhD at Edith Cowan University in partnership with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia in the realm of exercise medicine and neurological disorders. The scholarship also includes a full tuition fee sponsorship up to AUD $35,000 per annum. Our research team at the Exercise Medicine Research Institute at Edith Cowan University wish to contact any high-quality candidates interested in pursuing a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) embedded within our NeuroMoves clinic, a partnership with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia.

The International Accommodation Scholarship will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  The scholarship will be awarded to the first 100 eligible applicants. Students can apply online.

Value details

The scholarship offers a 30% reduction in accommodation fees for a 22 week contract at the Mount Lawley campus accommodation at ECU.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • achieve a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE);
  • have achieved an ATAR above 90;
  • be offered and commence an undergraduate degree program within the School of Science at ECU;
  • be enrolled in an undergraduate course in the School of Science;
  • be enrolled full-time in a minimum of three on campus units (45 credit points) within the School of Science;
  • not be enrolled in a double degree with another school, e.g. Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business; and
  • not be in receipt of another scholarship.

The scholarship is valued at AUD $15,000 and will be paid as a fee credit towards tuition fees at AUD $2,500 per semester.

  • not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship.

At a glance

  • You must be an International student commencing your first year of study in one of the following courses; the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Management and Conservation Biology) (Y86), Bachelor of Social Work (K41), Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies) (Y61), Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (C33), Bachelor of Science (Exercise an Sports Science) (M89), or a Bachelor of Health Science (K97) at ECU's South West (Bunbury) Campus in Semester 1, 2019.
  • Scholarship recipients will receive financial assistance of 100% (percent) off on-campus accommodation fees at ECU Village Bunbury for 22 or 44 weeks.

ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible applicants must have met the minimum requirement below:

  • Have been made an unconditional offer of place in an ECU higher degree by research course.

If you have submitted an application for course entry and have not yet been issued an offer, or you are currently enrolled in a Bachelor Honours Degree, a Master's Degree or Integrated PhD you can apply for this scholarship and your application will be assessed conditional on achieving the minimum requirements.

You are not eligible to apply for this scholarship if any of the below apply:

  • You have completed an Australian Research Doctorate Degree or equivalent.
  • You have completed a Master by Research or equivalent when you are seeking a research scholarship to undertake a Master by Research.
  • You have been in receipt of an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) or an Australia Award scholarship within the last two years.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
