To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be nominated by HEC
  • be supported by the relevant School at ECU and be assigned a supervisory team
  • fulfil academic admission requirements set by ECU, including English language proficiency

Selection criteria

  • ECU will contact selected students to apply for admission to the PhD program. All selected candidates who meet all requirements will be awarded the scholarship.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a citizen of the People's Republic of China at the time of application;
  • not be currently working or studying abroad;
  • fulfil academic admission requirement set by ECU, including English Language proficiency;
  • fulfil all requirements of the CSC;
  • agree to return to China upon completion of your studies; and
  • be intending to pursue a PhD. Priority areas include: Engineering, Environmental and Natural Science, Medical Science, Exercise Science, Computer Security and Creative Arts.

  • If you believe you are eligible, apply directly to ECU on this web page.
  • If you are successful in the application process, ECU Admissions will send you an offer letter and the Graduate Research School will be able to issue you with an invitation for you to submit as part of your CSC application.
  • Invitation letters must be submitted to the CSC by 5 April. CSC outcome letters will be issued in May and successful applicants must forward their CSC letter to ECU to receive a confirmation of enrolment (COE) (provided all other offer conditions have been met).
  • Unsuccessful applicants may apply for the second round of the CSC.

IEEE Computer Society Computer Science Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • have achieved a minimum score on a relevant Certification from the IEEE Computer Society;
  • be an international student intending to enrol in the Bachelor of Computer Science or the Master of Computer Science at ECU, or be a domestic fee paying student intending to enrol in the Master of Computer Science;
  • meet ECU’s English and academic direct admission requirements for the course;
  • not have a pending course application with ECU or be enrolled in the course at ECU; and
  • commence your course within four months of being granted pre-approval for the scholarship.

Eligibility guidelines - European Students (inbound)

In order to be eligible to apply, you must:

  • be a citizen or permanent resident of a country in the European Union;
  • be currently enrolled in a full-time course at a tertiary institution in the European Union (EU) which has a formal exchange program with Edith Cowan University;
  • have completed at least the first year of a full time course of study at your home institution;
  • be committed to studying full-time and on-campus; and
  • have been accepted into the Student Exchange Programme or Study Abroad Programme at Edith Cowan University.

Eligibility guidelines - Western Australian Students (outbound)

In order to be eligible to apply, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident;
  • be currently enrolled in a full time course at a tertiary institution in Western Australia;
  • have completed at least the first year of a full time course of study at your home institution and hold an overall weighted average of 50%+;
  • have been accepted into the Student Exchange Programme or Study Abroad Program through Edith Cowan University.

Selection criteria

Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of Edith Cowan University and there will be no right of appeal. The decision made by Edith Cowan University will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • accept your offer and pay full first semester tuition fees by 27th April, 2019; and

Application details

To receive this scholarship, you need to accept your offer and pay your first semester tuition fees by 27th of April 2019. The scholarship will automatically be applied towards your second semester tuition fees.

Whilst ECU continues to offer this scholarship, all eligible applicants will be awarded a scholarship.  No separate scholarship application is required.

This scholarship can be combined with other ECU scholarships.

Students can apply online. The International Accommodation Scholarship will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  The scholarship will be awarded to the first 40 eligible applicants.
