The most unique and prestigious ranking for universities is out for the year 2013

Although India and Russia are part of the BRIC economies, no Universities from either of these two countries made it into the list of top 200 institutions in the world.

The Times Higher Education world University Ranking for the year 2012 -2013 is out!

This world university ranking is unique in itself.Some of the judging criteria for the university rankings are;
1. Teaching
2. Research
3. Knowledge transfer
4. International outlook
Various performance indicators were carefully studied and measured by students, university heads, industry experts and governments.
Once again a US university has bagged the top position in the ranking table. 24 countries have made it to the top 200 list with the University of Tokyo ranking 27th place from Asia.
Although India and Russia are a part of the BRIC economies, they did not make it to the top 200.
It is a climb up the ladder for Australian universities with eight institutions among which six have improved their rankings.
The top 10 universities according to Times Higher Education are listed below.
1. California Institute of Technology
2. University of Oxford
3. Stanford University
4. Harvard University
5. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
6. Princeton University
7. University of Cambridge
8. Imperial College London
9. University of California, Berkley
10. University of Chicago
