Hi, I am planning to study in London. I have done my Engineering in Computer Science from India. How are the job prospects? What are the possibilities to get a permanent residence visa?

Benefit of studying in UK is that UK Masters degree in most of the universities is of one year period unlike two years offered in countries like USA, Canada and Australia. You save on cost and time as you are just spending on your one year of education in UK to complete your Masters Degree. You are available to work faster in the industry. UK degrees are acceptable worldwide. UK Visa policy has been changing quite frequently and as per the new rule you will be allowed to stay for four months after completion of your studies to secure sponsorship from a UK employer. As UK visa rules have changed recently it is difficult to comment on the prospect of getting the job within this four month period. The possibilities to get permanent residence visa will depend on your job availability in skilled area and you meeting the UK immigration points. Few of the UK Universities are offering one year job as part of the Masters Degree program. However, long term settlement will depend on the UK employer sponsorship in getting you skilled category job. Find the courses which are offered in the  London.

Permanent residence is a long process in the UK taking upto 5 years. If permanent residence is the main criteria look for options in New Zealand, Canada, Australia as they have an open approach to long term settlement and need qualified people specially in technical fields.
