You will have to find a supervisor under your respective department and get an approval for your research proposal. Then you submit a PhD application and will be given a student id number. Later you can apply for a scholarship on the University website using your student id.

Some PhDs are partially or fully scholarshipped. You can find more details of scholarships at: https://www.hotcoursesabroad.com/india/fund-your-studies/how-to-get-scholarship-to-study-abroad/

Hi Gurav, in around a month's time (end Sept.), Uniguru is going to be merged into Hotcourses India. In our site, you'll find a scholarship search tool that narrows down your options based on your marks, course and study destination. You can use the tool to figure out your scholarship options abroad.

Also, you can drop by our office and talk to our advisors who can help you shortlist some Unis where you can do your PhD. Our team of advisors can help you apply for any scholarship program you are eligible for.

Additionally, give these two blogs a read to know more about your funding options:

Hello Omkar,

Below I've attached a list that displays about 450 scholarships. I don't know if they all apply to Indian students but if you take a look I'm sure you'll find some helpful things there. Hope this helps: http://www.studylands.com/scholarships .
