A total of 36 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are participating in the scholarship program. Students can use the British Council website to apply for these scholarships.

Financial aid plays an important role in a student’s decision to study overseas. Some students rely on the savings of their family to fund their studies, but a vast majority of students depend on scholarships, loans, grants and bursaries to realise their dream of studying abroad.

To help Indian students fulfil their ambitions of studying in the UK, the British Council is offering around 370 new scholarships across 36 British Universities.

Touted as the ‘single largest number of scholarships ever launched in a single year in India’, the ‘GREAT’ scholarships are worth almost 1 million pounds. These scholarships are being offered in an effort to counter the rapid decline of Indian students heading to the UK.
