Overview

The University of Cologne was started in 1388 in Cologne with funding from the residents of the city to create an institution of higher learning. Starting with four faculties – law, Theology, Medicine and the Arts the University would grow on to become one of the most renowned universities in Europe during the tumultuous years of war in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries. Today UoC as it is popularly known is a modern university focused on providing top-quality education and offering a great research platform to its students. The University welcomes students from all around the world and is consistently ranked among the top universities in Germany.
