The United States is of course a very welcoming place for those who wish to go to US to study. Before applying for a US visa, all the documents should have been accepted and approved by the institution you wish to study.
The US visa interview is normally for three minutes. Since this is a very short session, all students are required to have documents in a well arranged manner. Richard says that, most students prefer to carry a harmonium folder which has numerous sub folders inside. The first folder can have the passport, the I-20 form, the semester confirmation and visa appointment letter. In the second they keep the bank statements, your parents’, your siblings’ and yours. The third folder has the other financial documents of bonds, fixed deposits, shares, debentures and mutual funds. Fourth, they keep the other acceptance and reject letters from university applied. Fifth is the place to keep the SAT, GRE or GMAT score sheets. Sixth folder will contain the all other mark sheets. Seventh will have your statement of purpose, transcripts, recommendations, resume the document which has been sent for the admission purpose in US. Next will be your folder which has the affidavit support and the bank letters as a proof to show that the parent/ parents are supporting the education. Then if your parent owns a business, you will have to show business documents of the last two years’ profit or loss. If you have work experience then the appointment letters, salary slips, your relieving letters have to be shown next as a proof supporting your work experience. Finally your property documents have to be shown.
Richard concludes by saying these are the minimum set of documents that you should carry when you are going for a visa interview.
