Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Conference - Best Paper Award

Eligibility requirements

Criteria

To be considered for this award, students must:

  • Submit their paper abstracts and full paper to the Department of Anthropology, Economics and Political Science at MacEwan University;
  • Submit paper abstract/full papers that are conference themed (varies every year);
  • Conference themes will vary each year and can be between 4-6 different themes;
  • Present their selected paper abstract and full paper at the Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Conference for panel evaluation.

Selection of Award

  • Paper abstract and full papers submission will be reviewed and selected by the conference committee for presentation at the conference;
  • Winners will be selected based on their presentation at each session based on the quality of the paper, presentation and question answering during the conference;
  • Grand prize winner will be selected and announced during the conference.

Note: The recipient of these awards does not necessarily need to be enrolled at MacEwan University.
Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee within the Department of Anthropology, Economics and Political Science.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must:

  1. Be an international student (i.e. on a valid study permit) admitted to the Fall term;
  2. Be registered in at least 12 credits per term in each of the Fall and Winter terms of the upcoming academic year in a degree program at MacEwan University as of the first day following the add/drop deadline in September;
  3. Have achieved a high school average on courses used for admission to a program within one of the scholarship ranges;

Selection of Award

Automatic selection. Recipients will be notified in their admit letter. Should there be any dispute regarding this scholarship, final decisions rest with MacEwan International in support of the intent of the scholarship.

COVID-19 Relief Bursary (International)

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled full time in the 2021 Winter term; and
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Additional criteria may be set by the selection committee.

Preference will be given to students who meet the following additional criteria:

  • Students who have experienced job loss due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Students who are employed on a MacEwan University campus who have experienced a reduction in scheduled work hours due to COVID-19 pandemic and campus service reductions.
  • If funds allow, consideration will be made for other students in financial need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) Award

Eligibility requirements

This award is administered by the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre (URDC). Please contact the URDC directly for award details and to verify deadline dates and the application process.

This award was established through the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA), a province-wide organization, to mark its 10th anniversary in 1996. ACUA strives to create an atmosphere conducive to the growth and development of the Ukrainian arts. Its objective is to educate the public about the Ukrainian arts.

Criteria

Award available annually to any qualified applicant (individual or group) who, through an exhibit, tour, festival, educational program or special project, fosters a greater awareness of Ukrainian arts in Alberta.

Works in progress and/or recently completed works will be considered.

Applicants must submit a portfolio and/or visual or audio sample of the Ukrainian art being promoted, and a written proposal outlining the intended exhibit, tour, festival, educational program or special project, as per the application form.

Limit of one submission per applicant.

Successful applicants must acknowledge the assistance of ACUA in all promotional materials and productions of the project for which the award is granted.

Successful candidate must submit a brief written report to ACUA within one year of receiving this award.

The same applicant cannot be awarded the ACUA award in consecutive years.
