National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies Honours Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Candidates must meet all of these:

  • Have recently completed an undergraduate degree with a Major in Islamic Studies;
  • Be enrolled in or eligible for admission into an Honours degree hosted by the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science, full-time or part-time; and
  • Be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Resident status.

RTP International Fee Offset Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a RTP International Fee Offset Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • not be a domestic student, as defined as being a student who is an Australian citizen; or an Australian permanent resident or holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa; or a New Zealand citizen; and
  • be commencing or enrolled in a HDR program (for which RTP support is available) at Griffith University.

A RTP International Fee Offset Scholarship will not be awarded to a candidate who is in receipt of an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth Government designed to offset HDR program tuition fees.

Please note, unless the scholarship round is officially open, your online application will only be assessed for candidature.

Current HDR candidates or applicants with a current offer (not yet commenced) are required to follow a different process for submitting a scholarship application. More information will be available on this process from 2017.

Closing date

Applications for scholarships must be submitted within the advertised opening and closing dates of the scholarship rounds.

Mid-year scholarship round applications will open 15 February 2017 until 21 April 2017 (for commencement on 3 July or 16 October 2017).

Value details

The RTP International Fee Offset Scholarship covers tuition fees for up to three years for doctoral candidates and up to two years for research masters candidates. In addition, the scholarship covers Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the applicant and any dependent (s) for the duration of the scholarship.

Research Training Program Stipend

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a RTP Stipend, an applicant must

  • be commencing or enrolled in a HDR program (for which RTP support is available) at Griffith University; and
  • not be receiving income from another source to support the candidate’s general living costs that provides a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Stipend rate to undertake the proposed program.

  • have applied and be eligible for admission, or be in receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer from the University, for entry into an undergraduate Bachelor degree program by the scholarship closing date.
  • have satisfied all appropriate entry requirements for the proposed degree program, including results of previous study and English language proficiency as per Griffith University's Undergraduate Entry Requirements.
  • be a commencing (not existing) student at Griffith University.
  • be enrolling as a full-time student in an undergraduate degree at Griffith University.

  • have a minimum GPA in high school studies. 
  • postgraduate applicants must have a minimum GPA in undergraduate studies of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 5.5 on 7.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • have applied and be eligible for admission, or be in receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer from the University by the scholarship application closing date.
  • have satisfied all appropriate entry requirements for the proposed degree program, including results of previous study and English language proficiency as per Griffith University's and the Griffith Business School's entry requirements.
  • be commencing (not existing) and enrolling as a full-time student in a Griffith Business School degree at Griffith University.

Selection process

Each intake, Griffith International will identify the students with the highest academic entry scores commencing in a Griffith Business School degree program.

  • have applied and be eligible for admission, or be in receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer from the University, for entry into one of the Griffith Business School Hong Kong CUHK undergraduate degree programs by the scholarship closing date, and have a minimum GPA in Higher Diploma or Associate Degree studies of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 5.5 on 7.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • have satisfied appropriate entry requirements for one of the GBS Hong Kong CUHK undergraduate degree programs, including results of previous study and English language proficiency as per Griffith University's and the Griffith Business School's entry requirements.
  • be commencing (not existing) and enrolling as a full-time student in one of the Griffith Business School Hong Kong CUHK undergraduate degree programs (current students are not eligible).

Programs of study: Bachelor of Business (Hong Kong) (1314) and Bachelor of International Tourism and Hotel Management (1410).

  • Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics (Honours) (2023);

Study Details:

Program: Full-time (40CP per trimester), GPA 6 or above

Honours and Research Topics: You are required as part of this application to supply information relating to a specific research topic/project you will undertake and identify a principal supervisor from within the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science.

Maximum value is AUD $3,000, payable in two (2) instalments. Payments of $1,500 are payable for each full-time enrolled trimester up to maximum value of the scholarship or minimum duration of the program, whichever is the lesser.

Harry Gentle Honours Scholarship

  • be enrolling as a full-time student in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework only) degree at Griffith University following completion of the DEP program at GELI.

Application details

There is no scholarship application required for this scholarship. Griffith International will work with GELI to obtain the details for the top performing DEP students who are continuing their study at Griffith University. One scholarship is automatically awarded to the DEP student who receives the highest grade at each of the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses (total of two scholarships per DEP session).

AUD $1,000 towards first semester tuition fees.

Queensland Conservatorium Audition Incentive Bursary

Eligibility requirements

  • Any 2017 commencing students, auditioning at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University for entry into any QCGU program, in an area of instrumental need. (Determination of instrumental need is at the discretion of the Director of the Conservatorium).
  • Can be any QCGU undergraduate or postgraduate program.
  • Open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holders, and New Zealand Citizens.

Selection Criteria

Assessment is made during the entry audition process.The student ranked the highest at the audition process in an area of instrumental need (as determined by the Director of the Conservatorium), will be offered the bursary/scholarship.
