Scholarships at JMC Academy

There are 3 scholarships available at JMC Academy.

Student Ambassador Scholarship

Study level

Undergraduate

Eligibility requirements

Scholarships are available for all Bachelor Degree applicants at any of our campuses in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. The scholarship will be applied to each trimester of study, beginning with AUD $3000 for the first trimester. Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on the student satisfying the requirements each trimester. 

To be considered for the scholarship applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.

Satisfy the normal entry requirements for admission to a JMC Academy bachelor degree. These include:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of commencement;
  • Evidence of successful completion of a senior secondary school certificate (submit a certified copy of high school transcripts, translated if not in English)
  • Evidence of minimum English language proficiency equivalent to Academic IELTS 6.0 (with no band below 5.5);
  • Interview
  • Animation/Games/Design applicants must submit a portfolio;
  • Performance/Songwriting applicants must submit an audition or folio.

Criteria:

  • The student will be required to be an active member of the Student Representative Council and contribute to events held on and off campus. They will be guided by the International Services team and will be required to keep a log of all ambassador activities.
  • The student must pass all units each trimester and satisfy the other requirements of the Student Ambassador program (such as SRC and event participation) in order to maintain the scholarship for the following trimester.

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a Careers Advisor, High School Principal, High School teacher, employer or a JMC Academy representative student recruitment agent.

Film and Television Scholarship

Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on the student satisfying the requirements each trimester.

  • The student will be required to create 2 x 1-minute high quality videos per trimester, documenting aspects of JMC Academy student life and activities. The International Services team will consult on the development of the videos.
  • The student must pass all units each trimester and produce videos that sufficiently match briefs in order to maintain the scholarship.

Application details

  • Submit your normal application for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Film & Television)
  • with all required documentation.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a Careers Advisor, High School Principal, High School teacher, employer or a JMC Academy representative student recruitment agent.
  • Submit a folio of 3-4 pieces of film work you have filmed and edited.

Online Ambassador Scholarship

  • The student will be required to create content for social media and the JMC Academy website. This will include a minimum of 2 social posts a week, one blog post per trimester and live social posting from at least 2 events per trimester.
  • The student must pass all units each trimester and satisfy the specific social media content production requirements of the scholarship in order to maintain the scholarship for the following trimester.

  • Submit a sample of social media posts and/ or any public social media handles and one writing sample (maximum 1000 words).
