Sport Scholarship

To be a Manchester Met sport scholar, athletes must meet the following criteria: Currently studying for or in acceptance of a place on a full-time or part-time postgraduate degree at Manchester Met; Be competing at international level; Participate in a sport recognised by Sport England; Be able to represent Manchester Metropolitan University in their sport; Meet the academic requirements of their course; Be able to provide reliable referees: Our Sport Scholarship Package‌: Up to 20% off fees; Performance Sport townhouse accommodation; Financial expense contribution; Access to top class sporting facilities, either on campus or within a ten-minute drive; Personalised sport science support; Bespoke nutritional support; Physiotherapy and Sports massage; Access to our performance sport science suite - take a tour; Bespoke strength and conditioning programmes; Free sports club membership for team athletes Lifestyle support; We are proud to be a part of a world-class sporting city, and confident in our programme’s ability to enhance dual-career athletes. International Postgraduate Scholarships

Student requirements

This scholarship is open to international students who enrol on a full-time postgraduate Masters programme and meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship will be awarded automatically upon enrolment, no application is required. Eligibility criteria: Applicants must hold an offer for a full taught Masters course (180 credit) at Manchester; Metropolitan University and begin their studies in September 2020 or January 2021. Master of Architecture applicants are excluded from this offer. MFA courses are eligible, as long as the full 180 credits are taken in year one, and the full overseas fee is charged. Applicants who achieve a UK First Class degree, or the international equivalent, in their undergraduate studies may be eligible for the £2,500 scholarship. Eligible applicants with a degree classification which is lower than a UK First Class degree, or the international equivalent, in their undergraduate degree may be awarded a £2,000 scholarship. International qualifications will be compared with Manchester Met’s internal guidelines and all decisions made by the University’s Admissions Department regarding degree classifications are final and cannot be appealed. Only courses charging standard overseas fees of a minimum £15,000, and being taught on the Manchester Campus, are eligible. Applicants must be self-funding and classified as overseas students for tuition fee purposes. Applicants will have successfully met any conditions set for entry onto the programme.

Application details

There is no additional scholarship application process; eligibility will be automatically assessed at the point of successful admission. If you meet the eligibility criteria, the scholarship will be awarded upon enrolment, no application is required.
