A scholarship which provides financial support to a commencing Law student within the Faculty of Law who will undertake either the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) or LLB combined degree or Monash JD.  The purpose of the scholarship is to attract diverse and brilliant minds to the law programs at Monash.

Students must meet the following criteria:

An International student from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Singapore or Indonesia.

Robert Blackwood Partnership - Honours Scholarship Scheme

Eligibility requirements

The Robert Blackwood partnership is a collaboration between Monash University and Museums Victoria to encourage and facilitate new research project ideas and initiatives that lead to high impact collaborations and significant external funding. As part of the Partnership, eligible honours students can apply for a scholarship to cover costs related to the project.

You must also be:

  • A commencing or continuing full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in an Honours course and will work on a project which is either co-supervised by Monash and Museums Victoria, or are substantially focused on some aspects of Museums Victoria’s collection.
  • Commencing or continuing full-time Honours students enrolled in 2019, at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

Based on academic achievement and offered to students who are undertaking an Honours research project based on Museums Victoria’s collection or in association with a Museums Victoria researcher.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain full-time enrolment in your Honours course.
  • Applicants must be willing to participate in activities showcasing the Robert Blackwood Partnership e.g. research seminars, promotional events.

  • A current Year 12 or IB student, and

Engineering Excellence Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship is for commencing Engineering students and is awarded based on academic achievement.

Studentd must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing any engineering undergraduate single or double degree included in the degrees offered by the Faculty of Engineering at a Monash campus in Australia, and
  • Studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2017, and
  • Must achieve a minimum ATAR of 98.00.

  • Based on academic achievement.

  • You must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.

Monash International Leadership Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

If you are an international student who has received a Monash undergraduate degree course offer, you may be eligible for this scholarship. Students from all countries are invited to apply. We are looking for high-achieving students who can be ambassadors for Monash.

Students must meet the following criteria:

Intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
Received a full Monash course offer.
Not a recipient of any other scholarships, grants or financial incentives funded by Monash University or be sponsored by other bodies / institutions.

Note: The following students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship:

  • Students enrolling in Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Students in Monash Pathway programs (e.g. Monash College and Monash University Foundation Year).
  • Students transferring from another Monash campus or applying to Monash from another Australian University.

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement.
  • Students will also be assessed on their scholarship application statement (500 words) and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a distinction grade average (70% or above) each semester.
  • You will be required to participate in at least three Marketing and/or Scholarship promotional activities. These activities include attendance at official scholarship functions and participating in marketing activities and networking events.

  • A commencing student enrolled in the Masters of Financial Mathematics at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

  • You must have completed an undergraduate degree in mathematics with a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 70 (distinction).
  • Short-listed applicants will be invited to an interview with a panel of academics and industry partners.

Dr CM Tay Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship has been created for students with exceptional communications skills who is studying engineering and is a participant in the Engineering Leadership Program.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Be participating in the Engineering Leadership Program
  • Be enrolled full-time in any single or double degree in the Faculty of Engineering at a Monash campus in Australia
  • Be specialising in one of: Aerospace; Chemical; Civil; Computer Systems; Electrical and Computer Systems; Environmental; Materials; Mechanical; Mechatronics
  • Have a low income

The Peter Finch Mathematical Statistics Honours Scholarship is the School of Mathematical Science's most prestigious undergraduate award. It is awarded to high-achieving undergraduate students who wish to continue their passion in mathematical statistics through research programs offered in their honours year.

You must meet the following criteria: Enrolling full-time in the Bachelor of Science (Honours), or the 48 credit point honours year in the Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours, in statistics, in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Monash University Clayton campus, and You must also have achieved an average of 90% or above in 24 credit points of relevant mathematical units at level three, and Supervised by a staff member within the School of Mathematical Sciences.

  • Supervised by a staff member in the School of Mathematical Sciences.

  • Minimum average mark of 85 per cent in 24 points of relevant mathematical sciences units at level three.
  • Average of 70 per cent or above in each individual undergraduate unit in mathematical sciences that counts towards completion of degree.

Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship

The Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship was introduced to acknowledge the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Monash University.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing a separate 48 credit point honours degree at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

  • Award based on academic achievement or need.
  • Academic achievement criteria: minimum of a high distinction average (80% or above) in previous tertiary studies.

To retain this scholarship:

You must maintain a minimum of a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.

This scholarship can be deferred.

Non-Monash students can only apply during the late application period in January.

Maria Athanassenas Honours Scholarship

A scholarship for students intending to enrol in a science honours degree at Monash in the area of mathematical science. 

Students must also be:

  • Supervised by a staff member in the School of Mathematical Sciences.
  • Commencing full-time in the honours degree of Bachelor of Science, or the 48 credit points honours year in the Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours, in an area of mathematical sciences, in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Monash University Clayton Campus.

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement
  • Minimum average mark of 85% or more in 24 points of relevant mathematical sciences units at level three
  • An average of 70% or above in each individual undergraduate unit in mathematical sciences that counted towards completion of your degree

A scholarship which provides financial support to a commencing student within the Faculty of Law who will undertake the Master of Laws.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Intending to enrol in the Master of Laws full-time as a Monash student, attending the Monash Law City Campus.
  • Achieved in the top 5% of your previous studies or demonstrated outstanding achievement in a combination of your studies and your work based learning.
  • Applicants will be assessed on their entire academic record, with a distinction average (or equivalent) preferred.

  • Award based on academic achievement.
  • Applicants will be assessed on their personal aspiration statement (500 words).

  • You must maintain a credit average (60% or above) each semester.

Selection criteria: Award based on a combination of academic performance and previous musical performance as determined by the School of Music. Performance at an interview/audition.

Leizor Pinskier Memorial Holocaust and Genocide Grant

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship was created in memory of Leizor Pinskier. It is available to students in the Faculty of Arts who are registered to participate in a winter semester International Study Tour Unit offered by the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC). It supports students who are taking up the opportunity to study history from the perspective of a society that has experienced mass atrocity and genocide.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing or current students enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree.
  • Students participating in one of the following winter semester International Study Tour units offered by the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia:
  1. ATS3314/4314/APG4314 Seeking Justice; South Africa and Rwanda
  2. ATS3284/ATS4286/APG4286 Final Journey: Remembering the Holocaust.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students with a minimum grade average of 70%.
Preference will be given to Honours students.

The recipient will be asked to provide a written progress report on the benefits of this grant to the donor and the ACJC website at the conclusion of the unit, accompanied by a photograph.

DEPM Prostate Cancer Research Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The DEPM Prostate Cancer Research Scholarship is intended to encourage students to undertake further studies at Honours level in medicine at the Monash Alfred campus in the area of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, focusing principally on improving health outcomes for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • international student.
  • Obtain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 70% or above, across undergraduate study in Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) (MED4301 & MED4302), Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Honours) (BMS4100 & BMS4200), or the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) (HSC4011, HSC4001 & 4002).

You must meet the following criteria:

  • A commencing or continuing student intending to enroll in one of the following degrees at a Monash campus in Australia: 
  1. Master of Actuarial Science
  2. Master of Applied Econometrics
  3. Master of Applied Finance
  4. Master of Banking and Finance
  5. Master of Business Economics
  6. Master of Economics

Selection criteria

Based on academic achievement and offered to the highest achieving students.
Commencing or continuing students enrolled in the nominated Business and Economics postgraduate programs will be invited to apply for the QTEM program.

To retain this scholarship:

You must participate and complete the QTEM program and remain enrolled in the required masters degree.
