A scholarship which provides financial support to a commencing Law student within the Faculty of Law who will undertake either the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) or LLB combined degree or Monash JD.  The purpose of the scholarship is to attract diverse and brilliant minds to the law programs at Monash.

Students must meet the following criteria:

An International student from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Singapore or Indonesia.

Have applied to study:

  • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) combined degrees OR
  • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

  • This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement.
  • Students will be assessed on their scholarship application statement and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University (500 words).

  • You must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.
  • Maintain a full-time enrolment.

BMYG Postgraduate Scholarship

This scholarship recognises academic excellence in students studying Applied Finance at the Monash Business School and provides opportunities for them to engage with China-Australia relations.

Chin Communications Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship was introduced to support high achieving international and domestic students undertaking the Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies, and who study the Mandarin-English pairing.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing student enrolled full-time in the Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies in the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Participating in the Mandarin and English pair and enrolled in both translating and interpreting streams.

To retain this scholarship:

You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark of 70 in your first semester to receive your second payment

Humanity Foundation Global Grant

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship is available to support students from the Faculty of Arts who are undertaking an international internship at one of the Australian Centre for Jewish Studies (ACJC) approved internship affiliates. It is intended to assist undergraduate students enrolled in ATS 3130 International Internship with a strong interest in Jewish Studies or Holocaust and Genocide studies.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • A current undergraduate student enrolled in ATS 3130 Arts International Internship.
  • Completed at least 6 points of credit in Jewish Studies or Holocaust and Genocide Studies at a Monash Campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded on the basis of academic achievement (minimum Weighted Average Mark of 70) and interview.
  • Interviews will be conducted by an ACJC Panel.
  • Cannot be awarded to someone who has received an ACJC International study tour scholarship in the same year.

Application details

  • Cannot be deferred.
  • Recipients must be enrolled in the study abroad unit before payment of the scholarship is made.
  • The recipient will be asked to provide a written progress report on the benefits of this scholarship to the donor at the conclusion of the unit.
  • Applicants will be automatically assessed when they submit an application for the relevant placement program through the Faculty of Arts.

Value details

AUD $4,000 one-off payment to cover expenses of travel, accommodation and living expenses for a one month period at one of ACJC's approved internship affiliates.

Faculty of Arts Honours Merit Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

At Monash, we reward excellence. If you are a high-achieving arts student with a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 80, you may be eligible for this scholarship to assist you with your honours journey.

Students must be studying as one of the following:

  • Commencing an honours program in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • To be considered for this scholarship, you must have a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 80 in your undergraduate degree and in your undergraduate major/honours specialisation.

Selection criteria

Based on academic achievement.

To retain this scholarship:

You must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 70.

No application is required. All eligible students will be automatically assessed at the end of their final year.

Leizor Pinskier Memorial Holocaust and Genocide Grant

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship was created in memory of Leizor Pinskier. It is available to students in the Faculty of Arts who are registered to participate in a winter semester International Study Tour Unit offered by the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC). It supports students who are taking up the opportunity to study history from the perspective of a society that has experienced mass atrocity and genocide.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing or current students enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree.
  • Students participating in one of the following winter semester International Study Tour units offered by the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia:
  1. ATS3314/4314/APG4314 Seeking Justice; South Africa and Rwanda
  2. ATS3284/ATS4286/APG4286 Final Journey: Remembering the Holocaust.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students with a minimum grade average of 70%.
Preference will be given to Honours students.

To retain this scholarship:

The recipient will be asked to provide a written progress report on the benefits of this grant to the donor and the ACJC website at the conclusion of the unit, accompanied by a photograph.

Arts in Prato Travel Scholarship

This scholarship provides AUD $2000 to students undertaking a Faculty of Arts unit offered at the Prato Centre, Italy. There are three selection categories: equity, merit and Italian Studies (for students studying Italian Studies).

Students must meet the following criteria: A current Monash undergraduate student enrolled at Monash Campus in Australia, who is undertaking at least one Faculty of Arts unit offered at the Prato Centre during their period of travel. Specific units offered may vary on an annual basis.

Monash Juris Doctor Asylum Seeker Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

You must meet the following criteria:

  • A holder of an Australian Bridging Visa A or E
  • A commencing Monash University postgraduate (coursework) student who is enrolled or intending to enrol full-time as a Monash JD student, attending the Monash Law City Campus
  • Previous completion, or are about to complete, an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification recognised for admission to the Juris Doctor program.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded basis of need.
  • Applicants must provide a video application that demonstrates what the scholarship opportunity will enable them to achieve and how they will contribute to creating a vibrant, positive learning environment (may include one or more of the following; industry/life experience, cultural background and/or extracurricular activities).

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain full-time (48 credit points) study load.
  • You must maintain a credit average (60% or above) each semester.

A scholarship which provides financial support to a commencing student within the Faculty of Law who will undertake the Master of Laws.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Intending to enrol in the Master of Laws full-time as a Monash student, attending the Monash Law City Campus.
  • Achieved in the top 5% of your previous studies or demonstrated outstanding achievement in a combination of your studies and your work based learning.
  • Applicants will be assessed on their entire academic record, with a distinction average (or equivalent) preferred.

Selection criteria

  • Award based on academic achievement.
  • Applicants will be assessed on their personal aspiration statement (500 words).

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a credit average (60% or above) each semester.
  • You must maintain a full-time enrolment

Econometrics Honours Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Two very prestigious scholarships in memory of the tragic events that took place during October 2002 in the Department Econometrics and Business Statistics, and its honours students. A major fundraising campaign was launched by the Econometrics and Business Statistics Department and its alumni, and this, along with contributions from many others, has enabled the faculty to offer two scholarships in perpetuity.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing or continuing full-time in the econometrics honours program at a Monash campus in Australia

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of an honours level 2A (distinction) grade average for the duration of the degree

SPHPM Bachelor of Medical Sciences Honours Scholarship

The scholarship is for students who undertake further studies at Honours level at the Monash Alfred campus in the area of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

You must meet the following criteria: Commencing the Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) and enrolled through the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

Selection criteria: Award based on academic achievement. You will be ranked according to results, and short-listed students may be interviewed by an SPHPM scholarship panel.

To retain this scholarship: Maintain full-time enrolment; must complete and submit all assessment tasks and hurdles for each semester.

Monash-Pratt Musician Performance Scholarship

A scholarship for commencing or continuing music performance students, awarded for academic merit and outstanding musical performance.

You must meet the following criteria: Commencing or continuing music performance student in an undergraduate degree in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at a Monash campus in Australia. Playing a specialized instrument as determined by the School of Music.

Selection criteria: Award based on a combination of academic performance and previous musical performance as determined by the School of Music. Performance at an interview/audition.

To retain this scholarship: You must maintain satisfactory academic performance as determined by the School of Music.

A scholarship for an international student wishing to study Pharmacy.

You must meet the following criteria: Commencing undergraduate student in either the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy at a Monash Campus in Australia. International student - has an overseas qualification at the time of application, or an offshore applicant with an Australian qualification who has not applied for a course through VTAC.

The Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship was introduced to acknowledge the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Monash University.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing a separate 48 credit point honours degree at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

  • Award based on academic achievement or need.
  • Academic achievement criteria: minimum of a high distinction average (80% or above) in previous tertiary studies.

To retain this scholarship:

You must maintain a minimum of a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.

Non-Monash students can only apply during the late application period in January.

Maria Athanassenas Honours Scholarship

A scholarship for students intending to enrol in a science honours degree at Monash in the area of mathematical science. 

Students must also be:

  • Supervised by a staff member in the School of Mathematical Sciences.
  • Commencing full-time in the honours degree of Bachelor of Science, or the 48 credit points honours year in the Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours, in an area of mathematical sciences, in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Monash University Clayton Campus.

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement
  • Minimum average mark of 85% or more in 24 points of relevant mathematical sciences units at level three
  • An average of 70% or above in each individual undergraduate unit in mathematical sciences that counted towards completion of your degree

Monash International Leadership Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

If you are an international student who has received a Monash undergraduate degree course offer, you may be eligible for this scholarship. Students from all countries are invited to apply. We are looking for high-achieving students who can be ambassadors for Monash.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Received a full Monash course offer.
  • Not a recipient of any other scholarships, grants or financial incentives funded by Monash University or be sponsored by other bodies / institutions.

Note: The following students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship:

  • Students enrolling in Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Students in Monash Pathway programs (e.g. Monash College and Monash University Foundation Year).
  • Students transferring from another Monash campus or applying to Monash from another Australian University.

Selection criteria

  • Based on academic achievement.
  • Students will also be assessed on their scholarship application statement (500 words) and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a distinction grade average (70% or above) each semester.
  • You will be required to participate in at least three Marketing and/or Scholarship promotional activities. These activities include attendance at official scholarship functions and participating in marketing activities and networking events.

Students must submit a separate application form for this scholarship.

Before applying for this scholarship, you must have received a full Monash course offer with no conditions.

Can be deferred within the same calendar year only.

Do not submit supporting documentation with your application – this will not be considered.
