Founded as Decatur Baptist College in 1898 as the first junior college in Texas, Dallas Baptist University (DBU) relocated to the foothills of southwest Dallas in 1965, becoming a four-year institution and eventually acquiring its current name when it began offering students graduate-level degrees. Over the years, the university has produced committed young men and women who have filled churches, classrooms, hospitals, and businesses around the nation and the world. DBU is an educational enterprise that is home to more than 4,200 students, representing more than 50 nationalities, with a stated mission of transforming the lives of students who will transform the world. Overall DBU is really a good place to be. The school provides so many services that help with transitioning to life in the US. The people are friendly and the campus is so nice. Dallas-Fort Worth has all the same things to offer as big cities in California and New York, but much cheaper.
