Overview
Philipps-Universität Marburg known as the University of Marburg is the world’s oldest surviving Protestant institution of higher learning. The University was established in 1527 and it offers programmes in all subjects other than engineering sciences. Currently the University is home to about 26,500 students with a small but growing number of international students. The research being conducted at the University of Marburg focuses on areas like – nanotechnology, biochemistry, languages, tumour research and advanced computing. With a wide network of partner universities around the world there are lots of opportunities for study abroad programmes and student exchange programmes.
