Overview
The Julius Maxmilian University of Wurzburg popularly known as the University of Wurzburg traces its origins to 1402 making it one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the region. Today the University of Wurzburg is a well-respected medium-size university. It comprises ten faculties hosting over 28,000 students including a growing number of international students. The University of Würzburg’s core focus lies in education in the Humanities, Law and Economics, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Technology. The Rudolf Virchow Centre /DFG Research Centre for Experimental Biomedicine, a part of the University, studies key proteins to trace the origin of diseases.
